KUALA LUMPUR: The number of flood evacuees nationwide has decreased to 32,614 up to 4pm today, down from 34,289 at noon.
The National Disaster Command Centre (NDCC) reported that 10,692 families were sheltering at 212 relief centres across 30 districts.
Kelantan recorded the highest number of evacuees, with 9,181 people from 3,404 families at 60 centres across nine districts.
Tumpat remained the worst-hit with 4,206 evacuees, although NDCC noted a downward trend there as well as in Bachok, Kota Baru, Machang, Kuala Krai, Tanah Merah, Pasir Puteh and Gua Musang. Only Pasir Mas is seeing an increase in evacuees.
Perlis had 7,533 evacuees from 2,361 families at 23 centres. In Perak, 5,039 people from 1,589 families are housed at 42 centres across eight districts.

Manjung recorded the highest number of evacuees in the state at 2,106, while Perak Tengah and Hilir Perak also saw rising numbers.
Kedah had 4,293 evacuees from 1,436 families at 21 centres across three districts. Kubang Pasu showed an upward trend, Kota Setar remained unchanged, while the number decreased in Pokok Sena.
Terengganu reported 4,070 people from 1,237 families sheltering at 50 centres across seven districts, with numbers rising in Setiu, Kemaman and Dungun.
A total of 2,477 people from 657 families in Selangor were sheltering at 14 centres across three districts, with an increase in Sabak Bernam.
Pahang had 21 evacuees from eight families at two centres in Lipis.
