#NSTviral: iPhone dies, panic rises: Police step in to save man's love life [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: A man’s desperate hunt for a phone charger — and his equally fragile love life — has captured the internet’s attention, all because his died at the worst possible moment.

In the now-viral clip, TikTok user @jiarx_uan is seen pulling up behind a police car at the roadside. When two policemen approached to check his licence, he surprised them with an unexpected request.

“Do you have a charger in your car? My ‘s battery is dead and I need to call my girlfriend. I can’t stop at the airport,” he said, clearly in distress.

The policemen, amused by the unusual plea, asked what phone he was using before agreeing to help.

The man went on to explain that he had been circling the area for nearly 30 minutes, desperately trying to reach his girlfriend, who works at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Showing a level of sympathy only love-related emergencies can inspire, the policemen allowed him 10 minutes to charge his phone inside the patrol car.

The video has since amassed more than two million views, prompting a stream of light-hearted reactions from social media users.

TikTok user @kak_jane27 asked: “Did you meet your girlfriend in the end?” He replied: “Yes, otherwise this video wouldn’t have been uploaded. I’d be in hospital.”

Another user, @zazzleenzulkafli, wrote: “Well done to the policemen for giving him 10 minutes to charge his phone — it could have saved the relationship. This is so cute.”

User @sn.diana09 added: “The policemen saved him from being scolded by his girlfriend.”

Meanwhile, @Alimranmza joked: “This isn’t about the police; it’s about us men. When you mention your girlfriend, we know the future looks bleak if you don’t call her.”

And summing up the mood perfectly, @Muzammil_shah94 commented: “Police don’t just keep people safe. They also look after our love lives.”
