Fahmi Reza summoned over 'Kelas Demokrasi' livestream

KUALA LUMPUR: Political activist Reza has been summoned by police for questioning over a recent “Kelas Demokrasi” livestream in which he discussed whether Sabah Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman can be removed from office.

In a Facebook post, said he received a notice from the Criminal Investigation Department this afternoon, directing him to present himself tomorrow for his statement to be recorded.

He said the investigation centres on a “Kelas Demokrasi” video titled “Can TYT Musa Aman be removed?” which he uploaded on Facebook on Nov 21. The probe is being conducted under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act, and Section 504 of the Penal Code.

The activist has been running nightly Kelas Demokrasi live sessions on TikTok for new voters ahead of the Sabah state election, continuing a series he first launched during GE15 in 2022 and subsequent state polls.

“To the police, as usual, if you call, I’ll come. See you tomorrow,” he wrote.

added that the investigation would not deter him from holding the educational sessions.

“To new voters, even though I’ve been called in, I won’t stop doing ‘Kelas Demokrasi’ every night, because in a democracy, the people are the bosses,” he said.
