KUALA LUMPUR: It was a drama-filled Super League on Saturday, as Negri Sembilan were denied late, Kuching City survived a VAR-soaked contest, and Selangor strengthened their push up the table.
At the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi, Negri Sembilan were denied all three points at the death after Terengganu snatched a 1-1 draw.
The visitors were reduced to 10 men as early as the 16th minute when Kyaw Min Oo was shown a straight red card, allowing the hosts to take control.
Negri finally made the breakthrough deep into first-half stoppage time through Luqman Hakim Shamsudin. But despite dominating long stretches, they were left stunned when Ubaidullah Fazili Shamsul equalised for Terengganu three minutes into stoppage time.
In Sarawak, Kuching City edged DPMM 1-0 in a match overshadowed by VAR stoppages at the State Stadium.
DPMM thought they had taken an early lead in the 10th minute through Miguel Oliviera, but VAR chalked off the goal after review.
Kuching City eventually broke the deadlock in the 69th minute through Ramadhan Saifullah.
DPMM believed they had levelled late on when Prosper Owusu scored in the 90th minute, but VAR denied them once again before Fairuz Zakaria was sent off.
Selangor tightened their grip on fourth place with a composed 2-0 win over Kelantan TRW at the MBPJ Stadium.
Alvin Fortes opened the scoring in the 21st minute after a precise delivery from Quentin Cheng, and Chrigor Moraes doubled the advantage in the 55th.
Kelantan‘s hopes faded when Abdul Sesay was dismissed in the 60th minute for a second bookable offence.
