KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a soon-to-be-married couple in Kajang suspected of breaking into an influencer’s residence in Bandar Sungai Long, resulting in losses amounting to about RM360,000.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof said the couple, aged 21 and 37, were detained between 10.30am and 2.30pm by the Kajang police CID and Selangor police headquarters.
“Police also seized two mobile phones,” he said in a statement here on Tuesday (Nov 18) adding that both suspects were acquainted with the victim and both had a record of drug-offences.
He added that the male suspect was remanded for two days and the woman for one day under Section 457 and Section 379A of the Penal Code.
“Further investigation is still underway to trace other suspects involved and to locate the stolen items,” he said.
He also urged anyone with information to contact the investigating officer Inspector Shahrulhasram Ramli at 017-253 0380.
In the house break-in incident last Sunday, various items were reported missing, including jewellery, two motorcycles and motorhycle helmets valued at nearly RM360,000. – Bernama
