KOTA KINABALU: Pakatan Harapan’s Kapayan incumbent Datuk Jannie Lasimbang launched her campaign with a grassroots walkabout on Sunday.

She began at Kapayan Square, meeting traders, families and local business owners while accompanied by DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke and several deputy ministers.

Lasimbang later proceeded to Kg Ganang for a dialogue with residents and will hold a political talk before attending a dinner function with Loke.

She faces 11 other candidates in a 12-cornered fight to defend her seat for the third term.

Sabah voters will cast their ballots on November 29, with early voting taking place on November 25.

The Kapayan constituency has 49,597 registered voters.

Lasimbang previously won the seat in 2020 with a majority of 13,163 votes under the Warisan Plus-DAP coalition. – Bernama
