KUALA LUMPUR: The Chinese Embassy in Malaysia organised the fourth Ambassador’s Cup badminton championships for the mass media on Saturday.
This year’s edition saw the participation of 150 media representatives, including those from Xinhua News Agency, Sin Chew Daily, Bernama, The Star, New Straits Times, Sinar Harian and many other major media organisations in the country.
In the mixed doubles event, the IPPTAR pair, Fareez Samsuri–Nurul Amira Ramlan, emerged champions.
The runners-up were Berita Harian representatives, Mohd Jamira Ramli–Jacquelyn Cheah Kah Ling, while the third place went to the RTM duo, Mohd Azhari Mohd Noor–Athirah Izzati Asran.
Meanwhile, the men’s doubles category also saw high-quality action, with the pair of Andrew Tank Moh Ern–Chong Chee Ming crowned champions.
Second place went to the IPPTAR representatives, Mohd Rohaizad Tajol Arus–Mohd Hillmi Shukri Jusoh, while Berita Harian pair, Mohd Fadzil Sukaimi–Raja Shah Amimarzuan, took third place.
The Malaysia China Insight duo, Owen Kwek Wen Jun–Wong Qian Shu, also delivered an energetic performance to be crowned champions in the tournament’s special segment.
