PETALING JAYA: Sabah voters will head to the polls on Nov 29 to elect a new state government, with 73 state seats being contested.

According to the Election Commission (EC), a total of 596 candidates will be contesting.

The EC’s official list shows Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) contesting 55 seats, while Pakatan Harapan is fielding 22 seats.

Barisan Nasional () – comprising , MCA and Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) – is contesting 44 seats.

Warisan is contesting all 73 seats and Perikatan Nasional (PN) is contesting 41 seats.

The Tulid seat will see a 14-cornered fight, the highest in the state.

Most of the 73 seats are expected to see multi-cornered contests, reflecting Sabah’s fluid political landscape and the influence of several towering personalities who continue to shape the state’s political dynamics.
