FIB fines KTRW and Police RM70,000 each

KUALA LUMPUR: The Real Warriors (KTRW) and Police have been fined RM70,000 each for breaching Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.

The two Super League clubs have also been slapped with a transfer ban, which will remain in effect until they settle their wage arrears with players.

In a statement today, Malaysian Football League’s (MFL) First Instance Body (FIB) chairman Sheikh Nasir Sheikh Sharif announced the punitive decisions.

“Article 14 of the FFP MFL regulations for the 2025-2026 season clearly states that failure to comply with FFP requirements within the specified financial monitoring period will be considered a breach of regulations,” the statement read.

“FFP MFL, under previous instructions from FIB, has sent two warning letters to both clubs demanding proof of payment or a repayment plan for arrears, but no resolution was received.

“Initially, both clubs were fined RM10,000 each for breaching Article 14. When the clubs failed to respond, the FIB levied a second fine of RM20,000 each, and eventually a third fine of RM40,000 each, alongside a transfer ban for the second window of the 2025-2026 season.”

FIB has now set a final deadline of Dec 31 for both KTRW and Police to settle unpaid salaries with players and team officials.

“If both clubs fail to meet the given date, stricter action under Article 14(1)(e) of the FFP MFL regulations for the 2025–2026 season may be taken,” the statement warned.
