Police today confirmed that suspended officer Sheila Sharon Steven Kumar, better known as “Inspector Sheila”, has lodged a report over her dispute with a food vendor near the Dang Wangi police station.
In a statement, Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus said the report against the food vendor was among three she had lodged.
Earlier today, Sinar Daily reported that the incident involving Sheila and the food vendor occurred on the morning of Nov 13 when she allegedly shouted at customers and questioned the validity of the trader’s business licence.
Sheila also allegedly accused the vendor of bribing local authorities with free food.
“The case has since been classified as ‘no offence disclosed’,” Fadil said.
He said Sheila also lodged a report expressing dissatisfaction with her arrest for obstructing a public servant.
Her third report alleged that police personnel had failed to respect her as a senior officer.
“This case has been classified as ‘no further action’ and referred to the integrity and standards compliance department,” he said.
On Wednesday, Sheila pleaded not guilty in the Kuala Lumpur magistrates’ court to a charge of obstructing a police officer during a crime prevention patrol at a restaurant in Dang Wangi on Nov 4.
The charge was filed after a viral video surfaced showing her confronting policemen and allegedly accusing them of threatening a Pakistani man.
