GRS and PKR expected to clash in 2 Sabah state seats

PETALING JAYA:

Gabungan Rakyat Sabah and are expected to clash in the contest for two seats in the Sabah state election.

Sabah election director Peto Galim confirmed that the party will contest both the Bandau and Moyog seats.

In a Sinar Harian report, Peto said Sabah PKR has nominated Remystar Taylor to contest the Moyog seat. He did not state who PKR will field in Bandau.

GRS had earlier named Redonah Bahanda as its candidate for Bandau, while Joeynodd Aiiko Roland Bansin will contest Moyog.

PKR’s total number of candidates for this state election now stands at 12, after the party named its candidates for 10 seats last Sunday.

The party won two seats in the last state polls – Inanam, won by Peto, and Api-Api, won by Christina Liew.

Liew, the former Sabah PKR chief, was not named as a candidate this year.

Peto has been nominated to defend his Inanam seat.

PH has reached separate pacts with GRS and ahead of the Nov 29 election.

GRS and PH are allies in the Hajiji Noor state government, while sits in the opposition in the Sabah legislative assembly.
