SARAJEVO, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) — Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) has seized a large quantity of smuggled mobile phones and other goods worth 450,000 convertible marks (266,700 U.S. dollars), the authority said on Wednesday.
Officials from the ITA’s Enforcement Department and the Tuzla Regional Center discovered earlier this week a facility in northeastern Bosnia containing 546 mobile phones, including iPhone 16 Pro Max and Galaxy S25 Ultra models, as well as 70 Apple Watches and other restricted items.
The goods were hidden in boxes labeled as phone accessories, and the owner failed to provide documents proving their origin or customs clearance, the ITA said.
The seized goods, which also included optical sights and medical products requiring import approval, were intended for further distribution. The ITA said further procedures are underway.
