PETALING JAYA:

Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) today announced that it would contest 55 of the 73 seats up for grabs in the Nov 29 state election.

Coalition chairman Hajiji Noor, however, said that only 51 candidates would be revealed today, with the remaining four to be announced tomorrow.

As expected, Hajiji will defend the Sulaman seat which he has held since 1990.

Other key GRS figures include Usno president Pandikar Amin Mulia in Pintasan, acting Parti Bersatu Sabah president Joachim Gunsalam in Kundasang, GRS secretary-general Masidi Manjun in Karanaan, and GRS information chief Joniston Bangkuai in Kiulu.

As announced earlier, Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) president Anifah Aman will contest the Bongawan seat.

Suspended member Shahelmey Yahya, who had expressed interest in defending the Tanjung Keramat seat under the GRS banner, was not included in today’s candidate list.
