GEORGE TOWN, Nov 11 — The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has confirmed that no petrol stations have committed any offences related to fuel measurement under the Budi95 petrol subsidy scheme.

KPDN Penang director S. Jegan said regular inspections have been carried out at all petrol stations in the state.

“So far, no petrol stations in Penang have been found to have committed any offences related to fuel measurement fraud or violations of the Budi Madani programme’s rules,” he said at a press conference after launching the Pasar Patuh programme at Chowrasta Market today.

He said KPDN enforcement teams conduct daily rotational inspections at petrol stations to ensure compliance with all regulations.

“We have a special monitoring team that conducts continuous checks, including tests on fuel measurement equipment, to ensure there are no elements of misconduct,” he added.

Jegan said the ministry has received only three complaints related to Budi95 since October 30, most of which involved technical issues or system confusion rather than wrongdoing by petrol station operators.

On the possible rise in vegetable and seafood prices following the start of the Northeast Monsoon season, he said KPDN is monitoring the situation closely.

“When the monsoon begins, the supply of fish and fresh vegetables may decrease, leading to higher demand and slightly increased prices,” he said.

He reminded traders not to exploit the monsoon season by raising prices excessively.

“KPDN will continue inspections at wet markets, grocery stores and wholesalers to ensure traders do not take advantage of consumers,” he said.
