KUALA LUMPUR: Suspended policewoman Sheila Sharon Steven Kumar, better known as “Inspector Sheila”, will be charged in court soon, says the police.
“Investigations are completed and we will charge in the near future,” Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus said after a Deepavali celebration at the police contingent headquarters here Tuesday (Nov 11).
The suspended policewoman landed back in the headlines after a video went viral of her berating policemen after they had detained a foreigner for driving without a licence on Nov 4 near a fast food restaurant in Jalan Ipoh.
At the time, a police team detained a 34-year-old Pakistani man after identifying that he had been operating his vehicle without a licence.
During the inspection, the now-suspended policewoman appeared and accused the arrest team of not knowing the law and belittled their actions.
She also claimed that the police had threatened the Pakistani man.
