KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 (Bernama) — Mr DIY Group (M) Bhd shares rose 2.5 per cent in early trade on Bursa Malaysia today after the company reported stronger earnings for the third quarter (3Q) ended Sept 30, 2025.
The country’s largest home improvement retailer posted an 11.9 per cent rise in 3Q net profit to RM136.12 million from RM121.65 million a year earlier.
Revenue for the quarter increased 5.6 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM1.20 billion from RM1.14 billion, mainly driven by contributions from new store openings. The gain was partly offset by softer like-for-like sales amid a challenging retail environment and ongoing policy adjustments following subsidy removals.
RHB Investment Bank Bhd said the strengthening ringgit trend would benefit Mr DIY, as imported goods account for about 70 per cent of its product mix.
It added that the group’s expanding scale, operating more than 5,000 stores and adding about 1,000 outlets annually worldwide, enhances its bargaining power through collective procurement.
“Mr DIY could leverage its margin advantage by launching more aggressive price promotions and marketing campaigns to spur spending.
“Moreover, consumer-friendly fiscal measures, including cash handouts and a gradual petrol subsidy rationalisation, should help lift sentiment and boost sales volumes,” RHB said in a research note.
The investment bank maintained its ‘Buy’ call on the stock, with a target price of RM1.87.
Meanwhile, Maybank Investment Bank Bhd expects Mr DIY’s earnings momentum to remain positive in the fourth quarter, supported by potential sales improvement during the year-end school holidays.
“The group’s gross profit margin is also likely to stay steady, given the ringgit’s continued strength against the Chinese yuan,” it said.
At 10.20 am, Mr DIY shares were up 2.5 per cent, or four sen, at RM1.64, with 2.6 million shares changing hands.
