KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 — Repair works on the road surface affected by a depression near the Masjid India area here were completed at 6pm yesterday.
Accordingly, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) informed that Jalan Masjid India, which was closed yesterday morning as a safety measure, has been reopened to the public.
According to DBKL, investigations found that the depression occurred locally, indicating a disturbance to the stability of the pavement structure in the area.
“DBKL will continue close monitoring and conduct further inspections and scanning at the location and surrounding areas,” it said in a statement last night.
DBKL stressed that public safety remained a priority, and expressed appreciation to all parties for their cooperation and compliance with safety instructions throughout the restoration works.
Earlier, DBKL stated that a road surface subsidence occurred at Jalan Bonus, in front of the Bombay Jewellery premises, at 8.39am yesterday.
Following that, DBKL, Air Selangor, Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) and the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters (IPD) were deployed to the location to conduct preliminary investigations and assess the structural risk in the area. — Bernama
