KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 (Bernama) — Hong Kong is set to sparkle brighter than ever this festive season as Central transforms into a breathtaking “Winter Wonderland” from Nov 14 to Jan 4, 2026, reinforcing the city’s reputation as Asia’s Christmas capital.
The centrepiece of the celebrations, Hong Kong WinterFest, promises an expanded lineup of attractions, including an Immersive Light Show in Central and the city’s tallest outdoor Christmas tree.
The initiative, organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) in collaboration with Hongkong Land, aims to elevate Hong Kong’s festive atmosphere while boosting its seasonal economy.
HKTB chairman, Dr Peter Lam said the new format would deliver the most extensive WinterFest yet.
“We aim to create a strong festive atmosphere citywide and reinforce Hong Kong’s position as Asia’s top winter travel destination,” he said in a statement.
At Statue Square Garden, visitors can step into a whimsical Christmas Town brimming with toy-themed decorations, live carol performances, and Santa Claus appearances. From Nov 28, a festive market featuring 12 chalets will offer seasonal delicacies, gifts, and creative workshops.
A spectacular 20-metre-tall Christmas tree, wrapped in shimmering ribbons, will illuminate the square, while Chater Road turns into a Starlight Boulevard, lined with more than 30 glittering trees and nightly light shows every evening.
Adding to the spectacle, eight iconic buildings, including the HSBC Main Building, Bank of China Tower, and Court of Final Appeal, will come alive in the first-ever “Immersive Lights Show in Central”, a 3D projection mapping experience that turns the skyline into a canvas of reindeer, snowmen, and holiday cheer.
Inside LANDMARK ATRIUM, the much-loved “Noëlia at LANDMARK” returns with an 11-metre lighthouse and Hong Kong’s largest interactive Wishing Lake, offering perfect photo moments for families and friends.
To sweeten the holidays, HKTB’s WinterFest Delights campaign will feature over 300 exclusive offers across dining, shopping, attractions, and transport — all accessible via a one-stop online platform.
As the countdown to 2026 approaches, Hong Kong’s skyline will erupt in its signature New Year’s Eve fireworks display, capping off a festive season set to make Central the shining heart of Asia’s most magical winter destination.
