KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 (Bernama) — Singapore-based OMS Energy Technologies Inc is seeking global partners in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics to develop advanced pipeline monitoring solutions aimed at enhancing safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in the oil and gas sector.
The move reflects the energy industry’s accelerating adoption of digital and automated technologies as AI and robotics increasingly improve cost control, operational precision and safety across oilfield engineering and maintenance.
OMS Energy in a statement said the partnership initiative, first announced during its Hong Kong roadshow in July, is part of its strategy to strengthen innovation in pipeline inspection and maintenance—particularly in challenging onshore and offshore environments.
According to WiseGUY report, the global oil and gas pipeline maintenance market is projected to grow from US$102.9 billion in 2025 to US$150 billion by 2035, registering a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 3.85 per cent. Meanwhile, Data Bridge Market Research estimates the global pipeline monitoring system market to expand from US$18.45 billion in 2024 to US$32.65 billion by 2032, with a CAGR of 7.4 per cent. (US$1=RM4.16)
OMS Energy is also exploring expansion into the urban pipeline inspection and maintenance market, which could exceed US$50 billion globally by 2030, with China alone expected to account for US$10 billion of that total.
The company operates 11 production bases in six countries across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions—including Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore—under a localisation strategy that prioritises local sourcing, hiring, and partnerships to strengthen competitiveness.
OMS Energy recently expanded its presence in Pakistan by supplying and installing a key wellhead component for MOL Pakistan’s first locally developed intelligent wellhead system. The system integrates real-time monitoring, automation, and remote-control technologies to optimise oil well performance and enhance safety.
The collaboration with MOL Pakistan highlights OMS Energy’s capabilities in the digitalisation of oilfield engineering, with its team producing the tubing hanger and tubing head adapter at its Singapore base, where final testing was witnessed by MOL representatives.
OMS Energy continues to grow its footprint across the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and West Africa, supplying surface wellhead systems to Grupo Simples Oil in Angola’s Kwanza Basin.
Founded in 1972, OMS Energy has more than 50 years of industry experience and serves over 200 clients globally. The company expects to benefit from rising demand for intelligent oilfield operations and higher-margin services such as AI-driven pipeline inspection and maintenance.
