KOTA KINABALU, Nov 9 (Bernama) — Any party seeking to cooperate with Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the Sabah state election or in forming a government must uphold good governance, eradicate corruption and remain committed to championing the people’s welfare, said PH chairman Datuk Seri Ibrahim.

“Whoever wishes to cooperate with us must adhere to these conditions… use the power given to defend the people’s welfare,” he said in his speech at ‘s Candidate Announcement Ceremony for the 17th Sabah State Election here tonight.

Also present were deputy president ; vice presidents Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and Datuk Seri Ramanan Ramakrishnan; secretary-general Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh; PKR information chief Datuk Fadzli; and Sabah PKR chairman Datuk Mustafa Sakmud.

At the event, Anwar, who is also PKR president, introduced 10 candidates who will represent the party in the election, and announced that PH will contest 23 state assembly seats.

Anwar said the people, especially in Sabah who will soon face the state election, must carefully evaluate what candidates and political leaders say, so that they do not fall for false promises or become pawns in political games.

Anwar stressed that political stability and cooperation between the federal and state governments must be strengthened to safeguard the people’s welfare, especially in Sabah.

He also called on the people of Sabah to seize the opportunity in this state election to work together as a team to develop the state.

“This is our chance to work as a team. Let us use the remainder of our lives for the good of the people and to restore the nation’s image as a respected country,” he said.
