Sultan Nazrin confers state awards on 30 recipients in Perak

Sultan Nazrin Shah honoured 30 individuals with state awards at Istana Iskandariah, including top government officials and military leaders

KUALA KANGSAR: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, conferred state awards and medals on 30 recipients at Istana Iskandariah today.

The investiture ceremony was held in conjunction with the ruler’s 69th birthday celebration.

His Royal Highness was accompanied by Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim.

Also present were Raja Muda Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa and Raja Di Hilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and his wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin attended the ceremony.

Today’s recipients were among 238 individuals awarded state honours for the Sultan’s birthday.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar received the Darjah Dato’ Seri Cura Si Manja Kini (SPCM).

The award carries the title Datuk Seri.

Sultan Nazrin also conferred the Darjah Dato’ Seri Paduka Mahkota Perak (SPMP) on three distinguished recipients.

They were Perak State Assembly Speaker Datuk Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid and Solicitor-General II Datuk Umar Saifuddin Jaafar.

Orang Besar Empat Negeri Perak Datuk Dr Syed Jaafar Syed Aznan also received the SPMP.

Chief of Defence Force General Tan Sri Mohd Nizam Jaffar was honoured with the Darjah Dato’ Seri Panglima Taming Sari (SPTS).

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail also received the SPTS, which carries the title Datuk Seri Panglima.

Public Works Department director-general Datuk Seri Ir Roslan Ismail received the Darjah Dato’ Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (DPCM).

Seventeen individuals received the Darjah Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP) award.

State Human Resources Committee chairman A. Sivanesan was among the DPMP recipients.

State Education Committee chairman Khairudin Abu Hanipah also received the DPMP.

Other DPMP recipients included State Health director Dr Feisul Idzwan Mustapha and Perak Fire and Rescue Department director Sayani Saidon.

Transport Ministry secretary-general Datuk Jana Santhiran Muniayan received the DPMP.

Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry deputy secretary-general Mastura Ahmad Mustafa was also honoured.

Tun Abdul Razak Broadcasting and Information Institute director Roslan Ariffin received the DPMP.

Sultan Nazrin conferred the Darjah Dato’ Pahlawan Taming Sari (DPTS) on six recipients.

Defence Engineering Services Division director-general Brigadier General Fazillah Ibrahim received the DPTS.

Senior Private Secretary to the Sultan of Perak, Brigadier General Norzahari Efandy Zakaria, was also honoured.

Earlier, Sultan Nazrin and Tuanku Zara attended the Guard of Honour ceremony.

The ceremony began with the Royal Salute and the state anthem.

A 21-gun salute was performed by the 41st Battery of the Royal Artillery Regiment (Ceremonial).

Sultan Nazrin inspected the guard before the investiture ceremony.

This year’s investiture ceremony is being held in two sessions.

The second session is scheduled for November 15. – Bernama
