KOTA KINABALU, Nov 8 — The Democratic Action Party (DAP) has decided to contest the Sabah state election under the Pakatan Harapan (PH) logo.

DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke said the decision followed internal debate within Sabah DAP over whether to stand independently or remain under the PH banner.

“DAP candidates will use the Harapan logo.

“We have deliberated this, and we are part of the federal coalition and a national party.

“Our DAP Sabah leaders are also part of the federal government, and we are the ruling federal coalition right now — that is why we stick to the Pakatan Harapan logo.

“Even though in the past, in Sabah and Sarawak, we have given some exceptions, this round DAP Sabah felt that the best strategy is still to adopt the federal Harapan logo,” he told reporters today after announcing the candidates.

It was previously reported that DAP had considered using its own party logo to strengthen its individual identity after component party Upko decided it would use its own logo.
