MANAMA (Bahrain): His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, today visited Bahrain’s Interior Ministry, here.
Sultan Ibrahim accompanied by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain arrived the Police Fort at the Interior Ministry about 12.30pm (5.30 pm Malaysian time) and were received by Bahrain’s Minister of Interior, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. .
Thereafter. the national anthems of both countries were played, after which Their Majesties witnessed a parade.
The monarchs then rode in an open-top vehicle to inspect a guard-of-honour, followed by a silent drill performance and a presentation by the Police Band.
Afterwards, Their Majesties proceeded in a special buggy to King Hamad’s Office at the Interior Ministry for a brief meeting, before lunch at the Officers’ Club.
Accompanying Sultan Ibrahim were Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris Iskandar Al-Haj, Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Al-Haj and Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Al-Haj.
Also present were Malaysia’s Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Datuk Seri Amran Mohamed Zin and Malaysian Ambassador to Bahrain Datuk Shazryll Zahiran.
Sultan Ibrahim arrived here on Thursday after concluding a four-day state visit to Saudi Arabia.
The three-day state visit to Bahrain is the sixth state visit undertaken by Sultan Ibrahim following visits to Singapore, China, Brunei, Russia and Saudi Arabia. — BERNAMA
