KOTA KINABALU, Nov 8 — Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri (Anak Negeri) has nominated female economist Dionysia Ginsos to contest in the Tambunan state constituency in the 17th Sabah State General Election.

Dionysia, a 33-year-old native of Kinabaan, Tambunan, is set to compete against STARSabah president Datuk Seri Jeffrey Kitingan, 78, who is expected to defend his seat in the upcoming state election.

Dionysia’s candidacy was confirmed by Anak Negeri president Datuk Henrynus Amin.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Development Economics and Planning from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and a Master’s degree in Economics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

Dionysia expressed her gratitude to the leadership of the Anak Negeri party for the opportunity to represent them in this upcoming state election.

She said although she is seen as an underdog candidate, it does not diminish her determination to gain support from the people of Tambunan, especially young voters. “Nothing is impossible in politics. Like bird’s eye chilli. No one claims that the journey to advocate for something necessary is easy, but neither do they say that the journey is particularly difficult.

“What matters is confidence and effort; something that seems impossible can become certain,” she said.

Dionysia urged the people of Tambunan to stand up and courageously initiate changes for a brighter future in the state election on November 29. — The Borneo Post
