Man sustains serious head injuries after being slashed by brother

IPOH: A man sustained serious head injuries after his younger brother allegedly slashed him with a machete at a house in Ayer Tawar, Manjung, today.

Manjung police chief ACP Hasbullah Abd Rahman said the 56-year-old victim is currently being treated at Seri Manjung Hospital.

He said police received a call about 1.30pm from a member of the public reporting a fight between siblings. Investigations revealed the victim lived in the same house as the 49-year-old suspect and his family.

“The fight started when the suspect was upset that the victim kicked the bathroom door while his daughter was inside,” he said in a statement today.

Police arrested the suspect at 1.55pm and seized a machete believed to have been used in the attack.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Investigating Officer Insp Nur Munawarah Ahmad at 011-1624 0391, the Manjung District Police Headquarters Operations Room at 05-688 6222, or via WhatsApp at 017-682 8005.

The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt with a sharp weapon. – BERNAMA
