
IPOH: A 56-year-old man suffered serious head injuries after a fight with his younger brother at a house in Ayer Tawar near Manjung on Friday (Nov 7).
Manjung OCPD Asst Comm Hasbullah Abd Rahman said police received a call from a member of the public at about 1.30pm, informing them of a fight between the two.
“The victim sustained severe head injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Seri Manjung Hospital,” he said in a statement.
ACP Hasbullah said acting on the information, police arrested a man, believed to be the victim’s younger brother, about 25 minutes later.
He said a machete, suspected to have been used in the incident, was also seized.
ACP Hasbullah said initial investigations showed that both the victim and the suspect stayed together in the house.
“The fight started after the suspect became angry with his brother for kicking the bathroom door while the suspect’s daughter was still inside.
“The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code,” he said.
