: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ibrahim cheekily avoided questions from the media on a possible Cabinet reshuffle after attending the closing ceremony of the Festival of Ideas here on Thursday (Nov 7).

As he mingled with students while leaving the hall, was asked whether a reshuffle was on the cards.

“Either rombak (reshuffle) or samba… If there are suggestions, please let me know,” he quipped with a smile, drawing laughter from the boisterous crowd.

The question came after Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, in his earlier opening remarks, hinted that his tenure might be ending soon, saying he only had “two or three months left” as minister.

Zambry is among four Cabinet members who are serving as senators and whose terms are due to expire on Dec 2, 2025.

The others are Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar.

Under the Federal Constitution, senators are appointed for a three-year term and may be reappointed once, allowing them to serve a maximum of six years.

earlier delivered his speech at the event, which was organised by the Higher Education Ministry and attended by thousands of university students.
