KUALA LUMPUR: Maxis Bhd’s net profit surged 12.6 per cent in the third quarter (Q3), driven by higher service revenue and effective cost management.

Its net profit for the quarter ended Sept 30 2026 rose to RM412 million from RM366 million a year ago.

Group revenue inched up 0.5 per cent to RM2.59 billion from RM2.58 billion previously, driven by a 1.3 per cent increase in service revenue to RM2.24 billion.

Maxis said the growth was underpinned by solid performances across the consumer postpaid, home and enterprise segments, partially offset by the ongoing impact of changes to the company’s device protection programme.

The company declared a dividend of four sen per share that will be paid on Dec 19.

Maxis’ nine-month net profit improved 9.9 per cent to RM1.18 billion RM1.08 billion, while revenue dipped slightly by 0.8 per cent to RM7.76 billion from RM7.77 billion previously.

In a statement, the company said it has fibre-connected over 100,000 business premises and linked 39 data centres to enhance network reliability.

Maxis also recently introduced Malaysia’s first Quantum safe networking solution, underscoring its commitment to next-generation network resilience.

Chief executive officer Goh Seow Eng said its commitment to operational excellence is fuelling accelerated momentum, as demonstrated by solid earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) growth and margin expansion.

“We’re leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and automation for cost efficiencies while our investment to maintain our network leadership continues, with quarterly capital expenditure of RM224 million.

“We affirm our full year guidance for low-single-digit growth in service revenue and mid-single-digit growth in Ebitda, supported by capex of around RM1 billion,” he added.
