PH and BN confirm no seat clashes in Sabah polls, with GRS negotiations nearly complete except for one remaining seat under discussion.
PUTRAJAYA: Seat allocation negotiations between Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional for the Sabah state election have been finalised with no clashes between the two coalitions.
PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail confirmed the agreement following completion of discussions between the coalition partners.
He said negotiations between PH and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah are also nearly fully concluded except for one seat still under consideration by both parties.
“We still have time before nomination day on Nov 15, and I am confident the matter can be resolved,” Saifuddin said at a press conference after attending the Wira MADANI Tour Programme.
The Wira MADANI Tour Programme is an initiative introduced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to express appreciation for security personnel under the Home Ministry.
The programme includes personnel from the Royal Malaysia Police, the People’s Volunteer Corps and the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency.
Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail were also present at the event.
Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus joined other officials at the programme which featured exhibitions and back-to-school aid presentations.
A total of 500 children of police personnel received educational assistance during the event.
“We can see this programme has had a positive impact, so, insya-Allah, it will be expanded further next year,” Saifuddin added. – Bernama
