Aside from launching the Ora Good Cat facelift, GWM announced that the next model to launch in the local market is the Wey 9 Plug-in hybrid MPV. This was announced by GWM’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Roslan Abdullah during the event earlier.
As you may recall, the Wey 9 MPV was recently previewed locally, showcasing a bold design with a large grille, slim angular LED headlights with integrated DRLs and a sculpted bumper that enhances its premium look. At the rear, it features a full-width LED light bar, vertical taillights, chrome accents, and a roof spoiler for a refined finish.
Inside, the cabin exudes luxury with Nappa leather upholstery and zero-gravity second-row seats. It also includes a refrigerator with three modes — cooling (0–15°C), heating (35–50°C), and fresh-keeping (10°C) — along with ventilated and massage seats, plus 12.5 litres of storage space.
Power comes from a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) setup combining a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine and dual electric motors, producing 442 PS and 642 Nm of torque via a four-speed DHT transmission. The all-wheel-drive MPV accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 200 km/h.

Its 44.2 kWh battery delivers up to 170 km of pure electric range (NEDC) and up to 1,000 km when combined with the petrol engine. Charging from 30% to 80% takes just 26 minutes using DC fast charging, while a full charge via a 6.6 kW AC charger takes 6.5 hours.
For safety, the Wey 9 features a four-layer battery protection system designed to withstand rain, heat, and impacts, along with full-length side curtain airbags covering all three rows.

As of now, these are the details available for the MPV. Although the debut of the Wey 9 PHEV has been confirmed, the timeline for its arrival has yet to be revealed by the automaker.
