PUTRAJAYA: More than 5.5 million traffic summonses issued by the Road Transport Department (RTD) remain unsettled to date.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the figure includes 3.69 million on-the-spot summonses issued under RTD Regulation 22 and 1.39 million under the Automated Awareness Safety System (Awas).
“The remaining summonses include 297,382 under Notice 114, 161,699 under Notice 115, and 6,409 issued under the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board Act 1987.
“I urge all motorists with outstanding summonses to settle them immediately during this two-month discount period, which ends on Dec 30,” he said at a press conference after the ministry’s monthly assembly here today.
