KUALA LUMPUR: Police have obtained a six-day remand order against local rapper Wee Meng Chee, better known as Namewee, to assist in investigations into the death of Taiwanese influencer Hsieh Yu-hsin.
Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Sazalee Adam confirmed that the remand order was obtained at the district police headquarters today.
“We have obtained a remand order on the suspect from Nov 5 to Nov 10,” he said.
The remand order was obtained to facilitate further investigations into the murder of Hsieh.
In an Instagram post earlier, Namewee said he travelled from Johor Baru to Kuala Lumpur early this morning for a scheduled appointment with the police.
