LANGKAWI: A woman escaped with minor injuries after her car veered off a steep beachside ravine and ended up on Pantai Pasir Hitam near Jalan Teluk Yu here today.
The 22-year-old hotel worker was on her way to work in Pantai Kok when she lost control of her vehicle while navigating a bend.
The car skidded off the road, plunged down the ravine and came to rest near the shoreline.
Langkawi Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Shariman Ashari said in a statement today that the woman suffered a sprained left wrist and a minor cut on her left knee.
“She was taken to the hospital for treatment. The car was badly damaged in the crash.”
Police have classified the case under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
