KUALA LUMPUR: The government is prepared to increase the Budi95 monthly fuel quota for e hailing drivers to 800 litres if needed, says Datuk Seri Ibrahim.

said e-hailing drivers are currently eligible for 600 litres a month, benefiting 58,000 drivers.

added on Tuesday (Nov 4) that there are some in the e-hailing sector who feel that 600 litres is insufficient.

“We are looking into it. If this is true, and there is a need with records to support it, the government agrees to increase the quota to up to 800 litres a month for eligible e-hailing drivers,” he said during Prime Minister’s Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat.

“This will cover 5,000 kilometres but is subject to terms and conditions,” he added.

On Oct 31, e-hailing drivers said the current 600 litre monthly RON95 quota under Budi95 is insufficient for daily operations.

They urged the government to raise it to at least 1,000 litres.

driver Mohd Saiful Faiz Md Nazri said drivers struggle to manage long distance trips within the quota.

He said those handling Standard and JustGrab services face higher ride volumes.
