KUALA LUMPUR: A weak earthquake measuring 2.7 on the Richter scale was recorded in Jementah, Segamat, Johor, at 7.55pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the department said the quake’s epicentre was located at coordinates 2.5° North and 102.8° East, about 3km west of Segamat, with a depth of 10km.
Tremors from the earthquake were reportedly felt in Segamat and nearby areas.
MetMalaysia urged members of the public who experienced the tremors to complete a feedback form available at https://forms.gle/ZggEcd6EtSMRYD4U6 to assist in gathering further information.
