Another Bersatu leader summoned by disciplinary board over Muhyiddin exit calls

KUALA LUMPUR: After summoning three division chiefs last week, Bersatu’s disciplinary board is set to summon another party leader, believed to be over calls for president Tan Sri Yassin to step down.

This was confirmed by former Pahang Perikatan Nasional chairman and Indera Mahkota Member of Parliament Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah.

“At 1.52pm today, I received a notice to attend a meeting with members of the disciplinary board at the Bersatu headquarters in Petaling Jaya at 4.30pm this Thursday.

“However, I requested for the session to be brought forward as I have a programme outside Kuala Lumpur that evening.

“The disciplinary board agreed to the request, so the new time is set for 2pm,” he said when contacted.

Last Thursday, it was reported that three Bersatu division chiefs had been summoned by the disciplinary board.

They are Pendang division chief and Sungai Tiang assemblyman Abdul Razak Khamis, Datuk Mohd Suhaimi Ghazali (Sepang), and Mohd Shukor Mustafa (Puchong).

It is understood that the trio were called in at different times to appear before the board at the Bersatu headquarters in Petaling Jaya.

They are believed to be among some 120 Bersatu division leaders who signed statutory declarations (SDs) calling for party president to step down and hand over leadership to his deputy, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin.

Last month, Bersatu expelled Tasek Gelugor MP Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan and four other leaders and suspended Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal for one term.

They are Mohd Azrudin Md Idris (Hang Tuah Jaya), Mohd Faizal Asmar (Pengerang), Mohd Fadhli Ismail (Ipoh Timur), and Mohd Isa Mohd Saidi (Ampang).

The disciplinary measures are believed to be related to the statutory declaration (SD) issue connected to attempts to pressure to step down.
