KUALA LUMPUR: It was a night to remember for the “Jordans” as Jordan Murray and Wilmar Jordan emerged as heroes for their teams in Sunday’s Super League action.
In Bandar Seri Begawan, DPMM twice came from behind through Jordan Murray’s penalties to hold Negri Sembilan 2-2 at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
In Penang, Wilmar Jordan struck the winner to give Immigration their first-ever Super League victory.
After a goalless first half, Negri broke the deadlock in the 54th minute when Joseph Esso’s header found the net. But DPMM drew level eight minutes later after being awarded a penalty for handball, confirmed by VAR, which Murray calmly converted.
Negri regained their lead in the 65th minute when Jovan Motika fired a powerful shot past Haimie Nyaring. However, the home side were handed another penalty, also for handball, and Murray once again made no mistake from the spot to seal a point for the newcomers.
The result leaves Negri in sixth place with 12 points from eight matches, while DPMM remain 10th on five.
Murray’s double denied Nidzam Jamil’s men what would have been a hard-earned away win.
At the City Stadium, Wilmar Jordan was the difference-maker as Immigration edged Penang 1-0 to claim their maiden win in the top flight. The Colombian forward struck in the 59th minute, finishing smartly past goalkeeper Ramadhan Hamid after a swift counterattack.
Penang had earlier come close through Dylan Wenzel-Halls in the 40th minute, but Zarif Irfan Hashimuddin pushed away his effort. Despite late pressure, the home side couldn’t find an equaliser.
The result lifted Immigration to eighth place with six points from eight games, while Penang dropped to 10th with five.
