SEREMBAN: The case of a pupil who died after falling into a sewage pit at a school in Lenggeng, Nilai, has been closed, with authorities classifying it as no further action (NFA).
Negri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said a thorough investigation determined the incident was accidental, with no criminal involvement or culpability found.
“Initially, the case was investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001. The matter was subsequently referred to the deputy public prosecutor before being categorised as NFA.
“Our investigation concluded that the incident was an accident,” he told Bernama today.
The Year Three pupil tragically died on Sept 27 after falling into the uncovered sewage pit.
