KUALA LUMPUR: A light-hearted incident has gone viral on social media after a woman’s finger became trapped in a small hole in a plastic chair, prompting her colleagues to call the Fire and Rescue Department for assistance.
A video shared on the Friends of Bomba Facebook page shows the woman, believed to be in an office, struggling to free her finger after attempting to pull it out herself.
Her colleagues eventually called in firefighters, who arrived and carefully used specialised equipment to cut through the chair and release her finger without causing injury.
Although the situation initially appeared tense, the woman’s embarrassed reaction — combined with her friends’ attempts to stifle laughter — quickly turned the rescue into a humorous moment online.
Netizens were entertained by the clip, flooding the comments section with playful remarks.
“Lucky the firefighters stayed calm — if it were us, we’d be laughing before helping,” joked one user, Haahim.
“Now she’ll never live this down. Her friends will tease her for a year,” wrote another.
Some said that a bit of soap or oil might have helped. “She probably panicked. Never mind — at least she’s safe,” said Halimah.
Others praised the professionalism of the firefighters, who responded promptly despite the seemingly minor nature of the incident.
“Respect to the firefighters — no matter how small the case, they always show up,” wrote Rohaya.
“I don’t know whether to feel sorry for the woman or the firefighters,” added Aisy.
The 27-second video has since amassed thousands of views and shares, with many amused by the incident while also reminding others to exercise caution to avoid similar mishaps.
