KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 — Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said that he did not have any knowledge of Khairy Jamaluddin’s political plans.
Sinar Harian reported that Fahmi when asked to comment of Khairy’s possibly rejoining Umno said that it was an individual’s right to join any particular political party, subject to the party’s own directives.
He also said to reporters: “I haven’t spoken to him yet. Let me give him a call,” he said after officiating National Courier Day 2025 at Shah Alam Convention Centre today.
Khairy, more popular known as KJ, had previously denied rumours of his reinvolvement in politics, having spent his time away from Umno hosting a popular podcast.
Fahmi also stated that Madani was “neutral” when it came to any developments involving particular parties.
He said that the government’s focus was on making Malaysia a favoured destination for foreign investment and major countries.
Strengthening the economy and attracting foreign investment were among the government’s current priorities, as Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had stated recently in Parliament.
