SHAH ALAM: The decision to join any political party is a personal choice, says PKR information chief Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, responding to reports that former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin is expected to rejoin Umno ahead of the Sabah election in November.
Fahmi said he has yet to receive any confirmation on the matter, adding that it is up to each party to decide whether to accept Khairy’s membership, subject to due process.
“I haven’t been in touch with him yet. Let me call him… soon.
“I have yet to receive any confirmation, but from what I can see, I am not entirely sure whether he truly wishes (to rejoin Umno), but I will look into it.”
“The decision to join any political party is a personal choice, and it is up to each party to decide whether to accept or not… and follow due process,” he told reporters after launching the Postal Forum Code of Practice for postal services here today.
