SEBERANG PERAI, Oct 30 — The Penang branch of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) did not receive any official complaints that the 300ml petrol quota under Budi95 was insufficient.

KPDN Penang director S. Jegan said they received nine complaints since the launch of Budi95 but none of it was regarding the quota.

“The complaints were mostly on the petrol amount that the consumer thought was less than the price they paid for but after our officers check on the ground, we found that there were no issues, the consumer just felt it was less based on the meter on their bike,” he said in a press conference at the KPDN Penang state exhibit storage complex in Bukit Minyak here.

He said whenever they received any complaints, KPDN officers will check the petrol station to check that the petrol quantity was correct.

He added that other complaints included technical issues such as the consumer placing the pump nozzle back after scanning their MyKad which voided the subsidised transaction or confusion on the amount displayed.

The government’s petrol subsidy scheme, Budi95, with a subsidised rate of RM1.99 per litre, was rolled out for all Malaysians with a valid driving license and MyKad since Sept 30.

Jegan said so far, there were no major issues with the subsidy scheme.

“We will continue to conduct regular checks on petrol stations,” he said.
