KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has raised Malaysia’s concerns with United States President Donald Trump over the 19 per cent tariff rate, describing it as “too high”.
Anwar said he conveyed the matter to Trump during their ride together in the president’s official vehicle, The Beast, upon the latter’s arrival in Malaysia.
“On the tariffs, of course, I said 19 per cent is still high, but he did impose zero tariff on major exports,” he told a press conference after the conclusion of the 47th Asean Summit.
