KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 — Rapid Rail said all MRT Line trains are now operating in automatic mode following overnight repair works on the line’s signalling system.

The company said its technical team, together with experts from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), carried out the repairs throughout the night to restore stable and safe operations after a disruption caused by a recent break-in and cable theft.

“As of 11am, all MRT Line trains are operating in automatic mode, with 20 trains running on the line and 10-minute intervals during off-peak hours,” Rapid Rail said in a statement today.

It said close monitoring will continue to ensure the system’s reliability and stability remain at optimal levels.

To assist commuters, 40 free shuttle buses are still in operation while MRT services continue to be closely monitored. Passengers are advised to refer to Rapid KL’s social media channels or the PULSE app for the latest updates and bus schedules.

Station staff and auxiliary police officers are also stationed at platforms, concourses, and bus stops to assist passengers who may require additional information.

Rapid Rail expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and support throughout what it described as a challenging period.

While this represents an important step towards fully restoring normal service, there is currently no confirmed timeline for complete service resumption, and authorities continue to investigate the break-in and pursue those responsible for the cable theft that disrupted the MRT Line.
