KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 — Commuters in Kuala Lumpur’s city centre are facing travel disruptions today due to the temporary closure of several Rapid KL LRT stations this morning for safety in connection with the 47th Asean summit taking place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

The affected stations will be closed from 7am to 12pm:

  • Kelana Jaya Line: Ampang Park, KLCC
  • Line: Conlay, Persiaran KLCC, Ampang Park
  • Kajang Line: Bukit Bintang

Services at all other stations remain normal.

Meanwhile, the MRT Line is affected by a signalling system issue as trains are being manually operated between Kwasa Damansara and Sentral, which may result in longer stops at each station.

To assist commuters, free shuttle buses are available along the line, including between Kwasa Damansara and Putrajaya Sentral, until the end of operating hours.

Passengers heading to LRT stations are advised to use alternative stations or transport options.

  • KLCC: Alight at Kampung Baru Station (Kelana Jaya Line) and walk via the Saloma Bridge.
  • Conlay/Persiaran KLCC: Use Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) or Cochrane stations.
  • Bukit Bintang: Use Merdeka, TRX, or Raja Chulan (Monorail) stations.
  • MRT Putrajaya Line: Use free shuttle buses or alternative stations along the line.

Additionally, Rapid KL buses and e-hailing services remain available for city-centre connections throughout the day, and Rapid KL officers and Auxiliary Police are on duty to assist passengers.

Commuters are encouraged to follow Rapid KL’s official social media channels for updates.

It was reported last night that the MRT Putrajaya Line was experiencing disruptions, with a police report lodged at Brickfields Police Station, Kuala Lumpur.
