KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 — Rapid KL announced the temporary closure of six LRT stations in the city centre today.
In a short statement on its social media accounts, the public transport operator said the stations are closed from 4pm to 6pm for “safety reasons”, without elaborating.
It listed the affected stations as:
- Kelana Jaya Line: Ampang Park and KLCC
- Putrajaya Line: Conlay, Persiaran KLCC and Ampang Park
- Kajang Line: Bukit Bintang
It said other stations across the Rapid KL network are open and and are operating as usual.
Rapid KL has advised passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternative routes or modes of transport during the closure period.
The rail operator had earlier today announced a temporary closure of several LRT stations from 7am to midnight.
Back then, it also gave safety and the 47th Asean Summit held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre as the reasons.
As of now, Rapid KL has not confirmed whether similar closures will take place tomorrow, but has stated that they will provide updates when more information is available.
Commuters are encouraged to follow Rapid KL’s official social media channels for the latest updates.
