Some 50 demonstrators who were part of a motorcycle convoy protesting against US president Donald ‘s arrival in Malaysia tomorrow, were arrested by police tonight.

The riders, some of whom were seen carrying Palestine flags, were heard shouting slogans critical of US ties with Israel.

Protesters were also heard shouting “rise Malaysia and chase Donald away”.

They were arrested at a roadblock in front of Menara , approximately 100 metres from the US Embassy.

The protesters were later brought to the Tun Razak police station, and had their motorcycles seized.

Police stopped the motorcycle convoy with protesters were taken to Jalan Tun Razak station, and their motorcycles seized.

A heavy police presence was in place, including the Federal Reserve Unit, as the demonstrators chanted “Reject Donald Trump”, with some carrying placards telling him to “go home”.

On Sept 27, Prime Minister Ibrahim defended the decision to invite Trump to attend the summit, saying Malaysia will use diplomatic channels to continue voicing concerns over Palestine, including the atrocities in Gaza.

Earlier today, police again warned organisers not to proceed with a protest against Trump, scheduled to take place near the Ampang Park MRT station here tomorrow.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus said the chosen venue was deemed unsuitable based on intelligence and a joint security assessment with other enforcement agencies.
