KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) recorded their biggest Super League win of the season after thrashing DPMM FC 10-0 at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri on Saturday.
Brazilian hitman Bergson da Silva was in sensational form, scoring four goals as the Southern Tigers ran riot against the Brunei side, who were reduced to 10 men when Syafiq Safiuddin Shariff was sent off in the 32nd minute.
Bergson opened the scoring in the ninth minute from Arif Aiman Hanapi’s assist before doubling the lead from the spot (35th minute) and completing his hat-trick just two minutes later. Oscar Arribas made it 4-0 before half-time.
After the break, Manuel Hidalgo, an own goal by Yunus Putera, Arif Aiman, Jairo da Silva, and Romel Morales piled on the misery for DPMM, with Bergson adding his fourth in the 73rd minute.
The emphatic victory keeps JDT unbeaten with 24 points from eight matches, underlining their dominance at the top of the table.
