HL: Car driver, student killed in three-vehicle crash

KLUANG: A male student was among two people killed in a three-vehicle crash along Jalan Johor, Kampung Bukit Kenangan, Renggam, this evening.
The 5pm accident involved a car, a workers’ van and a pickup truck.
The victims who died were Rulijah Ahmad, 51, and Salam Norazli, 15, the driver and passenger of the car, respectively.
Another passenger, Osama, 9, who is Salam’s younger brother, and the van driver, Chandran Balakrishnan, 53, were injured.
Renggam Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Shoromi Salih said they received a call at 5.16pm and deployed six firefighters to the scene.
“Upon arrival, we found all the victims, including the pickup driver, had been extricated by members of the public.
“The injured victims were handed over to the medical team, while the bodies of the deceased were handed over to the police for further action,” he said in a statement.
