KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 25 — The MRT Putrajaya line’s train services will close early at 10pm today to enable restoration works, following a disruption in the rail service’s signalling system since this morning.
In a brief statement tonight issued slightly past 8pm, rail operator Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd said this would allow its technical team together with experts to carry out comprehensive restoration works to stabilise train operations as soon as possible.
But passengers will still be able to use the free shuttle feeder bus services between Kwasa Damansara and Putrajaya Sentral stations along the line, until the end of operating hours for the MRT stations on the line.
“The frequency of the buses is expected to be every 15 to 20 minutes, depending on current traffic conditions,” Rapid Rail said in the statement.
Passengers can also seek help from station personnel or auxiliary police at the stations, it said.
Rapid Rail said it apologised for the inconvenience and that it appreciated the patience of passengers throughout the disruption.
It advised passengers to plan their journey earlier and to follow the latest updates via Rapid KL’s official social media and the PULSE app.
Earlier today, Rapid Rail said the disruption is believed to be caused by cable theft, while the police have confirmed that it is investigating the theft.
At the time of writing, it is currently unknown when the MRT Putrajaya line’s services will be fully restored.
